survival story :- Did you heard the amazing weird survival story of a Nigerian cook on a tugboad, who spent 72 hours without food, water and light in a sunken tugboat alone in the dark? Harrison Odjegba Okene was doing his job as a cook on a small tugboat along with 12 other crew members. Their tugboat was pulling an oil tanker. Then, on May 26, 2013 at 4:30 am a giant sea wave struck the tugboat and it turned the poor tugboat upside down and sank it 100 feet (30 meters) under the sea.

The crew members had locked themselves in their cabin, a way of safety from possible pirate attack. Sadly they all died in their locked cabins, as water came. Harison had the habit to rise early, so he was in the bathroom at the time of sinking the boat. When cold sea water started filling in, he crawled in to another bathroom in his half paints. There he found a little air pocket in attached room, formed due to turning the boat upside down.

He spent almost 3 days without food, water and light. The seawater was so freezing and salty that it pealed of his tongue skin. With oxygen level going down with every breath, he lost all hope and crying and praying to God.

Nearly after 3 days, when a team of scuba divers found the boat and collecting the dead bodies, suddenly to their horrific surprise, a alive hand came from the dark and dull water and grabbed the hand of rescue diver (you can see this moment in a you tube Video). The equally amazed rescue diver assured the Harison and pet on his shoulder. Harison spend 60 hours in decompressing chamber after rescue.

Kim peek was able to memorize any book in one fast reading. He was used to read left page with left eye and right page of the book with his right eye.
Born with missing connections between to hemispheres of brain, he suffered from macrocephaly, damage to the cerebellum, and agenesis of the corpus callosum.
Later his brain made unusual connections resulting remarkable photographic memory. Kim can recall facts from 12000 books he read in Salt lake city library. The character of Raymond Babbitt of movie Rain Man (1988), inspired by Kim.

These lobes have specific areas which perform an exact function such as vision, hearing, control, language, etc.
The Human Mind contains 15 to 33 billion neurons and each neuron is connected with thousands other neurons by a protoplasmic fiber called axon. Each neuron emits signals using axon at the speed of 1-100 meters per second. Some neurons emit signals at the rate of 10 to 100 per second. This signal lasts up to less than a thousandth of a second. Now imagine if you have 33 billion neurons with 1000 connections, you got 33000 billion connections. It is unimaginable that how much memory can be stored in this neural network and how many calculations, mathematics can be done by it, if used to its full potential.

Fish that lives without water :- You might find this unbelievable, but it is true. Nature has produces so many diverse and weird creatures that if we haven’t seen actual videos of them, it would have been hard for us to believe. All fishes lives in water; but how long a fish can survive without it? Your answer might be …… up to one minute or so. But the highest record of a fish living without water is incredibly long 4 years!!!
And the winner is a freshwater South African Lungfish, belonging to the subclass Dipnoi, it has remarkable ability to breath in air and can live without water up to 4 years, giving it an evolutionary advantage. They found only in South Africa, Africa and parts of Australia. All Lungfish have two lungs except Australian Lungfish which has only one. There is only six different species has been discovered of this bizarre fish.

The Longest Drought Survivor
Long droughts are common phenomena in both Africa and Australia. To survive these long droughts, lungfish has evolved (or created by GOD as per the theory of Intelligent Design) many capabilities.
In the droughts, when all water evaporates, other fishes of the pond dies but Lungfish survive due to its ability to breath in the air. But without a water surface it could die due to heat and can be hunted easily by predators, so it digs a deep hole in the mud, by swallowing it and passing it through its gills. Underneath, Lungfish mummify itself and put itself in a suspended animation or hibernation mode by making a cocoon around itself. This cocoon soon hardens by a thick waterproof layer. In this hibernation state Lungfish metabolism reduces up 1/60 than normal. It uses fats and its own mussels as food in this state and produces very little waste materials as urea which is less toxic.

Lungfish waits for rains in this mummified condition patiently. But this long suffering too has an end, when fresh rain waters pours in the mud chambers, the thick layer of cocoon melts and week Lungfish scrawl slowly in search of water pond. A Lungfish does this hibernation cycle many times in its lifetime. The Lungfish has quite large extreme life span, a Australian Lungfish is been reported to be alive in Shedd Aquarium (John G. Shedd Aquarium) since 1933 to till now.
