Use Pen Drive as RAM or Virtual memory

Pen Drive as RAM :- When you run a big game or software in your computer, it requires a lot of space of RAM, and when system needs more memory to run the software, it uses some space of hard disk, called virtual memory.

You can use your pen drive as Extra Ram or set it as virtual memory, this will boost your system speed. But remember, you will not able to store files in pen drive while using it as virtual memory or RAM and also you cannot remove it from your computer, otherwise the system will crash.

Pen drive as RAM In Windows XP

Go to properties of My Computer by Right clicking on it.

Open the ‘Advance tab’. Choose ‘settings’ of performance.

Click on ‘change’ button of virtual memory.

Now from the list select your pen drive.

Set the ‘custom size’ by a radio button. Set the minimum and maximum value of the pen drive.

Click ‘set’ button and then click ‘OK’ button to complete the process. .

Pen drive as RAM In Windows 7 & Windows 8

Using pen drive as Ram in Windows 7 & Windows 8 is quite easy. Just attaché your pen drive, Format it, right click on pen drive, select “properties” from context menu.

On the properties dialogue box you will find “readyboost” option there. Click it and select use it radio button. Set the maximum size, click ‘ok’ and ‘apply’ button to complete the process.

Caution : Do not remove your pen drive, otherwise your system will crash.
